Born in Stuart and raised in Jensen Beach, Matt Theobald has called this area home his entire life. He’s a product of local schools, and he is currently a teacher at the same high school from which he graduated. Matt’s dedication to his students stems from a life-long desire to serve his community and make a difference in the lives of others, values that he learned from his parents, who are both retired from the healthcare industry.
Matt grew up fishing in local waters and enjoying our public beaches, and when Matt and his classmates learned that water from Lake Okeechobee was killing the fish and seagrasses in their estuary, they organized a protest to raise awareness in others. Nearly 20 years later, Matt is still fighting for our river…
When Matt talks with his friends, family, and neighbors, he hears stories of how hard they work to provide for their loved ones, and he understands the challenges they face, day-in and day-out. From decisions about healthcare to childcare, from homeowner’s insurance to paying bills, he knows the silent struggles families face while sitting around the kitchen table.
Matt recognizes that having a healthy environment, quality education and an economy in Florida that works for ALL Floridians is essential to our way of life and the key to a prosperous future.
